A place with an olive grove: in 1996 my brother acquired a property of over 3,000 sqm above Gardone with a magnificent 180° view over Lake Garda. Many years of establishing building rights followed, working together with studio Armellini and several designs from the architectural firm Wöhr to meet the client's expectations. In 2008, the holiday homes we designed were revised by Fabi office through a design study, and the upper villa received the characteristic clasp made of expanded metal (brass), which serves as a living space and provides passive sun protection.

The foundation piles for the terraced structures built into the hillside were set in 2009, and in 2012 the upper villa with sky-frame glazing, approximately 320 sqm of living space, and a 30 m long pool was ready for occupancy. From 2011, I simultaneously supervised the construction site in Gargnano. It was and is fascinating to see how, according to the respective client's visions, two completely different architectural styles emerged, each with a unique utilization and interpretation of the property.

Special challenge of the project: transporting the five enormously large palm trees, which were selected on site in Sicily, from the semi-trailer truck onto the property.
